Raise your hand if you feel like no matter how hard you try, you can’t lose any weight.
Now, raise your hand if you feel like all of your research into losing weight becomes so overwhelming that you give up.
I bet you raised your hands to both, because I most certainly did.
I was that person who so sick and tired of getting the motivation to lose weight and then quickly having it diminish once I started looking up online what I needed to do.
“7 Tips to Losing 100 Pounds in 6 Months”
“Count Your Calories and Cut the Weight”
“10 Exercises to Get Ripped”
All sound appealing.
But realistically, I wanted to slim down and be healthy. I wanted somewhere to start but all of these articles have you just thrown into the deep end of health and fitness.
I am a 23 year old recent college graduate who is in the engineering/construction business. I have never been overweight, at least to my standard but at my heaviest, I was 275 pounds at 6’2”.
I always felt unhealthy. I had man boobs, love handles and a gut to top it all off. I would gain weight in my face and carried that signature double chin. I knew I wanted to change but I didn’t know how.
I would research, talk to my friends who were either really fit or in the personal training world but none of it seemed to motivate me. It all felt overwhelming and I never knew where to start so I would go to the gym once and then give up.
I realized quickly that it wasn’t necessarily all my fault. The internet and fitness world is harsh – setting these lofty expectations of how to lose weight and how much you should be losing.
These sites were not designed for real people.
I decided to combine my research with my own habits that guided me to my weight loss. I wanted to create a space for real people. People who have full-time jobs, multiple jobs, families, hobbies, or very little time and energy to make their goals realistic. The people who don’t have time to go to the gym every day for two hours and for the people who don’t want to make baked chicken and broccoli for every single meal.
I made this for you because I am one of those people, too. Since then, I have lost more than 30 pounds by changing the way that I live, and I am not done yet!
I promise, I don’t only stand under trees when I take pictures.
Enough of that endless searching on the internet that always seems to make you more overwhelmed and less likely to begin your weight loss goal.
